Hot Flow*

This class is taught by:

Hollie Kovach

I took my first yoga class with Rick Resnick on August 1, 2009. I had no idea what I was getting into. I made it through class and was hooked. My idea of yoga did not hold up to what I had just done. I was exhausted but my body felt great and my back felt better than it had for a long time. Today, I am stronger, have better balance and am more flexible than ever before. I have learned that I “can”. I hope to be practicing hot yoga until a very old age. Each day brings you the opportunity to learn something new about yourself and work towards finding balance between your mind, body, and soul.

David Westlake

It's hard to believe sometimes that this is my life.  Teaching yoga, celebrating a cycle class, and sharing interesting ideas with all of you...wow!  I get to do this everyday.  For me, the awe that I feel about where I am and what I do is a testimony to yoga at it's deepest core.  It has led me on a path to places  that exist beyond my wildest dreams.  Yes! If you listen to it's call, yoga will take you on the most wildly authentic journey you will ever go out upon.  It's out there! As an instructor, my most sincere hope is that you might start to see (even if just a small glimpse) of your authentic path glistening before you in one of my classes.  Namaste!

Courtney Lyons

I grew up playing sports from nearly the time I could walk, and enjoyed playing soccer, basketball, tennis, and rugby throughout the years in California. I began doing yoga and strength training during my high school years, and found that the gym I attended had some great cycling instructors. I began incorporating spin classes into my workout routine until I moved to Alaska in 2008. Fast forward to 2015, when perusing Facebook I saw a post for instructor auditions being held for Anchorage Cycle. The memories of all the great classes I used to take came flooding back. I went out on a whim, prepared a short routine, and (honestly, feeling a little silly and apprehensive!) auditioned to be an instructor for Anchorage Cycle. So, here I am now! AYC has introduced me to a community of amazing people whom I am honored to ride alongside, and I could not be more grateful. The energy in the studio and the feeling of absolute elation following a ride is unparalleled!

Bronson Frye

I am a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in Homer. I am the oldest of six kids and the only boy. I work in the construction industry but I try to spend as much time playing outside as possible!

Although I originally started practicing yoga to rehab from a knee injury, I've experienced a multitude of benefits beyond just physical ones. Yoga has not only helped me heal and strengthen my body but it also helps ground me and develop mental and emotional clarity. I think yoga can affect positive change in all aspects of our lives and I appreciate how yoga always seems to bring me back to who I want to be and who I'm working on becoming. After experiencing for myself many wide-ranging benefits from a regular yoga practice I was inspired to share my passion with others, so I attended the Anchorage Yoga Teacher Training program. I've been teaching yoga ever since graduating and I would love to invite you to check out a class sometime and enjoy a brief yoga journey that can help you feel better – inside and out!

Sarah Glassett

Born and raised in Alaska, Sarah pulled the classic move and went ‘away’ for college. That stint lasted a few additional years and upon returning home in 2009, she was missing a daily practice at a studio that felt right. To teach herself yoga, she enrolled in Janet Stone’s 200hr Teacher Training, where her heart was burst open to the possibilities of this practice. Graduating in 2010, Sarah began teaching at Anchorage Yoga right away where she felt right at HOME. She has been a participating teacher in AY’s 200hr Teacher Training program for the last 5 years and continues her own studies with teachers such as Schulyer Grant, Elena Brower, Janet Stone, Christopher Wallis and many more influences around the globe. Her classes are an invigorating mix of spirit and sweat. With her intelligent sequencing and spunk you will leave class feeling spacious in body and mind while laughing a little along the way.

Angela Houston

My yoga journey began long before I attended my first official yoga class. A series of difficult life circumstances left me empty and searching for peace and centeredness. I didn't know it at the time but this was the perfect environment to plant the seed of yoga. One Christmas, I received a gift card to Anchorage Yoga and my life has been forever changed.

I graduated AY Teacher Training in 2015 and now feel so honored to teach beside the very same practitioners who instilled the love for the practice within me.

Katey Inman

(E-RYT 500) Katey Inman, co-owner and director of Anchorage Yoga, has practiced and studied Yoga for over two decades. While living in Arizona, she trained with Anusara teachers Jordan and Martin Kirk completing her first 200-hour Yoga Alliance® Teacher Training at At One Yoga. Upon completing her training she traveled to Auro Valley Ashram in India to further her studies. Soon after she returned from India Katey knew that Yoga had become a path for her rather then a practice.

Over the years Katey has studied various schools of yoga and developed a love affair with the Philosophical teachings of Tantra. Most recently she has had the privilege to learn from a true Guru and credits her time with Dharma Mittra as life affirming and profoundly transformational. As a massage therapist Katey weaves her passion for anatomy into each of her classes and has developed her own methodology of teaching that encompasses her love for all things Yoga. Katey encourages her students to challenge themselves from a place of compassion, practice with purpose, and follow to the powers of divine intuition.
